520 _aSUMMARY: Road Traffic Accidents (R.T.A) as a major killer is an emerging problem in Nepal. The main purpose of the study is to find out the factors associated with road traffic accidents, which include the physical factor, behavioral factor, age, sex, occupation. Simple random sampling will be used. The Estimated Population Size Will 100.Face to face interview will used as the data technique. And the tools for data collection will be questionnaire The collected data were systematically and thoroughly analyzed and interpreted under the basis of stated objectives, research questions and the findings. The findings are as follows: The findings of the study revealed that majority of respondents 59(59%) were of the age 21-30 years. Majority of the respondents 69% were male. About 54% of the respondents were unmarried. Maximum respondents were Hindus 83% and 39% from janjati ethnicity. Regarding Accidents cases hundred percentage of the respondents had knowledge on accidents and among them 73% had accident. Majority of the accidents 83.6% had happened within the valley among which Kathmandu district was prone to accidents cases with 50.7%. About 1/3rd of an accident had taken place within these 6 months of periods according to the study conducted. Majority of the accidents about 35% were happened with two-wheelers and the fourwheelers with 34%.Maximum accidents 48% were happened because of the violation of traffic rules both by drivers and pedestrians. Carelessness, over taking, over speeding was also the causation of accidents. In perception questions, maximum chance of happening accidents is in bike(79%) in vehicles and students(78%) in occupation, and evening(40%) in time, 15-30 years in age group(75%). In behavior questions, accidents happen by alcohol consumption with 11%, taking on cell phone with 15.1%, over crowing with 67.12%, over taking with 49.3%. Majority 55% of the respondents told to follow traffic rules to prevent from road traffic accident. While reviewing the secondary data of two month the total accident cases were of 760 among which in month of Baishak 2068 B.S. had maximum accidents. Both in month of Baishak and Jestha majority of accident had happened in between 12pm-18pm hours that is 26.18% and 13.68% respectively. Twenty four death cases were found while reviewing the secondary data. Majority of the victims were of age group 21-25 years in month of Baishak and Jestha 2068 B.S with 17.58% and 11.91% respectively. Majority of the accident were happened with bike in both month of Baishak and Jestha with 23.19% and 16.66% respectively. Majority of accident had happened because of the carelessness by the drivers in both month of Baishak and Jestha with 39.21% and 14.87% respectively.
