Resumo:ABSTRACT: 32 Patients of the age more than 14 years, undergoing closed mitral valvotomy for mitral stenosis from January 1996 to July 1997 over a period of 18 months were included in the study. Aschoff nodule was found in the left auricular biopsy of 5 patients (16.60%). However, prevalence of all sorts of inflammation was 60%.
