Summary:ABSTRACT: Background: Urinary incontinence is the common medical disorder and in the developing countries the problem is not accepted as major health problems. Women experience urinary incontinence twice as often as men. According to the study done in various countries the prevalence rate is high 50.5% among women in Nepal and 23.8% among women in Korea in the year 2012. Many women fear condemnation from their communities and families. Discussion and the debate surrounding this problem do not openly occur within the family and in society. Women who suffer from UI continue to remain silent about the matter. As a result many women lack appropriate and sufficient information regarding UI. Various reviewed literature shows that the prevalence rate of UI is high but the knowledge level is low and health seeking behavior is negative.
