One fourth (25.7%) of respondents had high level of knowledge, high proportion (41.3%) of the respondents had moderate level and onethird (33.0%) had low level of knowledge. This study also revealed that only 16.5% had high level of practice, majority (72.5%) had moderate level and 11.0%had low level of practice. The correlation coefficient (r)between knowledge and practice was -0.050 and p-value was 0.605 which wasvery weak insignificant negative correlation. The study concludes that nurses has moderate level of knowledge and practice towards prevention of SSI.
