In Far West Region, the clinicians mostly encounter with UFIs like malaria, kala azar, scrub typhus, dengue, brucellosis, leptospirosis, Acute Encephalitis Syndrome[AES]. Aims and Objectives:To know the incidence of tropical diseases, various clinical presentation, morbidity and mortality in Far west Region. Design: Perspective observational study has been carried out in Seti Zonal Hospital and Nava buddha Hospital, Dhangadhi among patients with acute and chronic febrile illness admitted in these hospitals during 2017. Methodology: Most of febrile cases of all districts of Far West Nepal has been enrolled in a Government Zonal Hospital and a Private Hospital at Dhangadhi,Kailali. A detail history, clinical examination and relevant investigations available at our setup has been done among all enrolled subjects. Sample A total of 528 patients with acute febrile illness admitted in these hospitals. Duration Of Study: From January 2017 to December 2017. Result: Among a total 528 admitted patients with febrile illness, 252 (47.7%) subjects have tropical diseases. In order of frequency Scrub typhus is ranked as 1st in this study which comprised 176 out of 252 cases (69.84%). Dengue stood as 2nd with 26 cases (10.31%), followed by Brucellosis with 23 cases (9.12%) then Malaria with 11 cases (4.36%), Kala azar also with 11 cases (4.36%) and AES with 5 cases (1.98%).
