Tóm tắt: | ABSTRACT: Hearing improvement following Myringoplasty has been reported. This prospective study was done to find out the time for maximal hearing improvement within the period of ten weeks following myringoplasty. A total of fifty patients attending ENT outpatient department of Tribhuvabn University Teaching Hospital diagnosed as CSOM tubotympanic were taken up for the study. Cases of CSOM tubotympanic type with dry central perforation, conductive or mixed type of hearing loss were excluded from this study. Pre and postoperative audiometric evaluation were done. It was observed that there was progressive improvement in hearing level postoperatively from 4th week towards 10th week was comparatively less indicating that hearing level becomes more or less stable from 8th week towards 10th week postoperatively. The maximal hearing improvement (in terms of air conduction threshold as well as Air-bone gap) who underwent successful myringoplasty was observed in maximum number of patients at 10th week following surgery. It was found that maximum hearing improvement was observed at 10th week after surgery (46%) followed by 8th week (30%) , 6th week (20%) and 4th week (4%). Maximal hearing improvement after myringoplasty was observed during 8th to 10th week following surgery. |
