The majority of respondents, (82%) from urban residence were found anemic whereas only of respondents (18%) from rural area were anemic . The majority of respondents (68%0 lived in joint family. They all used it only after their children were born. Out of 100, only 10 respondents had used the depo-provera injection as temporary family planning method before the pregnancy. They discontinued the depo provera because of heavy bleeding. The investigator found some medical problems with respondents : 21.4% had heart disease,14.3% were renal disease and 14.28% had peptic ulcer. Likewise, one respondent was treated Tuberculosis seven years ago and one respondent was treated for mental illness. The main findings show very low knowledge of women on anemia, its effects of anemia on prenatal, natal and puerperium. Most of them were not aware of early signs and symptoms of anemia. Majority of respondents did not know the preventing measures of anemia. The study revealed ignorance is one of the determining factors of anemia. Even though, they were attending antenatal clinic mainly for Tetanous Toxoid vaccine because tetanus is highly prevalent in Morang district, majorities of respondents preferred to come hospital MCH clinic as they were satisfied with health service there. In summary, anemia is the major problem in Morang District, one of the biggest districts of Nepal. Although there is a high percentage of illiterates, the findings reflected that the situation of women's health is threatened by anemia.
