Homosexuals are the part of the population but their existence has not been accepted. Form religious point of view the homosexual acts are considered "Sinful" and from legal point of view such acts are not legalized. On one hand, they perform risky sexual practices and keep themselves as well as their sex partners at a high risk of several health problems and on the other hand, they are stigmatized population in the society and are reluctant to seek health care services. This study was descriptive and qualitative, done on Male having sex with Male (MSMs) of Kathmandu Valley, based on Blue Diamond Society. The objective of the study was to youths of age 20-24 years, service holders where as all of them were literate. The health problems depended on sexual practices than on the sexual orientations. Most commonly prevailing health problems were: Syphilis, Herpes, genital warts, Gonorrhea, dental problems, body itching etc. Single partner MSMs did not suffered from some minor health problems like cold and cough. All the respondents demonstrated adequate knowledge about STIs. They felt that HIV/AIDS is different from other STIs because it is neither curable not treatable. They believed that single sex partner, use of condom of right quality and in right technique during both oral and anal sex, early treatment of STIs were the measures to practice safe sex. However, only single partner MSMs practiced safe sex, every time. They preferred seeking health services from government hospital but they did not practice because the health workers misbehaved them, privacy was not maintained and also the charges were high. They go to VCT, NFCC, Youth Vision, and BDS clinic for sexual health problems and for others they go to government hospitals. They would use the government hospital for any health problems if the health institutions were user friendly e.g. privacy maintained, non- discriminatory attitude of health personnel, health services not expensive, and short waiting hours. Adequate researches and explorations need to be done, to address the health problems of this group of people. Appropriate health programs should be launched to protect the homosexuals as well as the heterosexual population. The health personnel need to be trained in such a way that, MSMs are not reluctant to seek health services. They must be encouraged to seek appropriate health services. Health facilities must be made user-friendly. This group of people should not always be related to STIs / HIV /AIDS only, instead other aspects i.e. mental health, oral health etc. should be explored and addressed.
