Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: This study was done about ' Knowledge and practice regarding burn injuries management among nurses of kanti children's Hospital'. It was done with the objectives of finding the existing knowledge and practices of the nurses regarding burn injury management.This research will help to know the existing knowledge and practices of the nurses exposed to the burn cases.This study was done over 50 respondents. census sampling technique was used to select the population of the study. The questionnaire was distributed and was collected, coded, tabulated and classified by making for table analysis for checking the knowledge and observation check-list was prepared and the respondents were observed to check whether they were following correct steps to assess their level of practice. There were 50 respondents who were exposed the burn cases.The respondents had good knowledge regarding i/v fluids had excellent knowledge and only 2% under poor category. Similarly 48% had excellent and 34% had poor knowledge on pain management. Likewise 60% had poor and 40% had good knowledge on infection prevention.And , 50% had excellent, 28% good and 22% poor knowledge on nutrition requirement. Regarding psychological support, 74% had excellent and 26% had poor knowledge whereas regards the knowledge of contracture prevention, 40% were excellent, 32% good and 28% poor. And association was observed between knowledge on pain management and educational status as well as knowledge on contracture prevention and special training on burns injury management. The overall knowledge and practice of nurses were good.So it a=can be concluded that educational status must be upgraded to have excellent knowledge as well as special course training should be conducted for nurses having exposure to burn injury.
