Summary, etc. SUMMARY: This interventional pilot study has an aim of assessing the effectiveness of traditional Ayurvedic formulation in improving health related quality of life of people suffering from cancer. After taking informed consent, we enroll the participants into this study. Participants are given traditional Ayurvedic formulations for two months period. Health related quality of life of participants is assessed using a standard tool, EORTC QLQ-C30. First (initial) assessment takes place before using the traditional Ayurvedic formulation. Second (mid-term) assessment takes place after completion of one month of use of Ayurvedic formulation. Third (final) assessment takes place after completion of two months of use of Ayurvedic formulation, after one month of the second assessment. We also test blood and urine samples of the participants during initial and final assessment. This study is undergoing through important phase of the study process, the intervention and data collection phase. As stipulated by the protocol all together fifteen participants have been enrolled into the study. No adverse effects have been on the participants. One participant died. One participant has withdrawn the study. The study received approval letter from NHRC in 31st January 2018. Upon our request, NHRC has amended the duration of the study up to November 2018. The study is expected to be completed within the provided time period.
