Semi-structured interview schedule was used to collect data. Descriptive and Inferential statistics i.e., Chi-square test done in SPSS version 20 used for analysis. Results: The study revealed that the majority (69.6%) 80 had high level, 23.7% (27) moderate level and 7.0% (8) had low level of awareness about routine health checkup. About half (50.4%) 58 practiced and 49.6% (57) do not practiced routine health checkup. Among 58 who practiced it, higher proportion (36.2%) 21 followed it 3 monthly, 44.8% (26) preferred government hospital for checkup. “Health concern” (92.3%) followed by “Worry to have chronic or serious illness” 81.0% gave reason as for practicing routine health checkup. “Need not felt” and “unaware about routine checkup” were 2 most common reasons reported as for not practicing routine health checkup (77.2% and 29.8% respectively). Socio-demographic variables like age, sex, religion, ethnicity, educational status, marital status, occupation does not tend to affect the level of education. Conclusions: This study concludes middle aged people tend to have higher awareness and known about its’ importance however they do not practice it regularly. Hence, more initiative should be given to practice of routine health checkup. Keywords: Routine health checkup, Middle aged people, Awareness, Practice
